My idea for this brooch came as I watched the wood mice who live in the wall opposite our kitchen window. Our bird feeders hang over the wall, so I can watch both the birds and mice as I wash up!
I have hand sawn the 2.7 x 1.8 cm max background from .3 mm silver sheet. Onto this I have soldered the 1.2 cm tall wood mouse, then soldered onto the 4.5 cm long silver stick pin.
I have engraved stones on the oxidised background, then waxed to preserve the finish. The mouse has a brushed finish.
